Public data, made readable
This is government data that belongs to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is taken directly from the public sources government uses, and arranged by who is responsible for it, so a figure can always be traced to the body that answers for it.
How the record is arranged
A register is one area of public responsibility. Each holds the datasets that fall under it, names the department or agency that answers for them, and says where every figure came from. Nothing is adjusted, estimated, or editorialized; where a figure contradicts its own source, it is shown as filed and a note says so.
